I need a power steering part for my car, can I buy direct?

We currently only sell to bona fide garages with premises in the UK but would welcome export enquiries.

The power steering system is a safety critical component of the vehicle; therefore we do not recommend that power steering parts are installed by anyone other than a trained technician. Most steering columns are now fitted with airbags, containing explosives, which can be dangerous if handled incorrectly and once fitted power steering racks need to be tracked using specialist equipment. So in our opinion fitting power steering parts is not for the DIY enthusiast.

Often members of the public try to buy discounted parts and then take them to a garage to be fitted. We will not knowingly allow this happen with our products. Firstly, the garage needs to make a reasonable profit on every job, to contribute to the garage’s fixed overheads, if they make nothing on the part then inevitably the fitting charges would be increased to compensate. Secondly, if you source a part, take it to a garage to be fitted and there is a subsequent problem, disagreements can arise over whether it was, as the result of a faulty part, whether the part was it fitted correctly or even was it the correct part for the application. Any money saved on the discounted part can easily be swallowed up in sorting out the problem.

We are a UK garage but haven’t dealt with you before, how do we buy?

Please call our free phone number 0800-731-4517 which will be answered by our sales team to place your order.

We will need your company details, vehicle application or registration number and the part required. If the part is in stock and ordered before 4.00pm, it will be sent out the same day for next working day delivery. Payment can be made by credit/debit card.

The price includes next day delivery to all parts of mainland Britain and collection of the exchange unit. A “returns pack” is supplied in the box with the part. The pack includes a guarantee certificate which can be given to the vehicle owner and everything necessary to return the exchange unit when it has been taken off the vehicle. A plastic sleeve and cable tie to contain the road dirt and oil, a roll of tape to secure the box, printed return address labels for the outside of the box and a free phone number to call when the unit is ready for collection.

What guarantee do you give?

All parts supplied are guaranteed under our 12 month unlimited mileage “no quibble” guarantee.

This means that we will replace free of charge any part, that for whatever reason should it fail, within 12 months of it being fitted, no questions asked. The defect may as a result of a genuine manufacturing fault, incorrect fitting by your technician or even damaged by your customer.

If I order today when will I receive the product?

Our standard delivery is next working day, so if you order a part which is in stock before 4.00pm you can expect it to be delivered before 5.00pm on the following day. Parts ordered on Fridays are delivered the following Monday. Standard delivery is included in the cost of the part.

Our carriers do offer timed delivery services, before 10.30am and before 12.00 noon if the part is urgent. These can be specified when ordering but may incur a delivery charge.

Garages based in certain areas of the Scottish Highlands receive only a two day delivery service, but if you live in such a remote, beautiful part of the country what do you expect?

Can you deliver on a Saturday?

Yes, we can arrange delivery on a Saturday before 12 noon, using our nominated carriers, however there will be an additional charge of £20.00 per consignment.

Customer didn't show up, could we return the unused part?

Obviously, we appreciate the inconvenience that this situation causes, so yes, we will accept return of the unit, from UK mainland only. However, there will be a charge of £25.00 to cover the cost of carriage, inspection and re-packaging of the product. All goods are checked, once they arrive back at our re-manufacturing plant, to ensure they are in a re-saleable condition.

You defer the surcharge for 7 days, what does that mean?

In order for you to have chance to remove the old unit and fit the new steering component, we allow seven days before contacting you to arrange collection. however, you can call us as soon as the old unit is packaged up on the free phone number and request collection.

We also feel that by deferring the surcharge, it has the added benefit of eliminating the costly time taken in unnecessary paperwork.

The old unit is damaged; will I be charged a sucharge?

All old units are inspected upon arrival at our remanufacturing plant and in the event there are serious defects, such as bent or broken castings then a surcharge will be applied.

Equally, if we do not receive an old unit in return, then a surcharge will be levied.

How do we return the old unit?

Your remanufactured steering component is delivered in a durable cardboard box with a “returns pack”, which includes a plastic sleeve, cable tie, roll of tape plus returns address labels. Please open the carton carefully, so that it can be easily re-sealed.

Once the old unit has been removed and drained of any excess fluids, to avoid contamination of the carriers other products, secure the plastic sleeve in place with the cable tie, place in the box and seal with the adhesive tape. Stick a returns address label over your delivery address and one over the carrier’s barcode. Call us on our free phone number 0800 731 4517 and ask us to arrange collection. The old unit will usually be collected, by our carriers, within 24 hours.

Do you offer monthly credit account facilities?

We like to establish a regular trading history with our clients before granting credit account facilities. Upon request, we will carry out a credit check using The Creditsafe Group before terms can be agreed.
